Entries are now open for the ever-popular Gorey Three-Day stage race which takes place early this year, over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend from March 26th-28th.

With just under two months to go to the event for A2 and A3 riders, organisers are urging those planning to compete to get their applications in as soon as possible.

The event, which is in its 50th year, will once again be capped at 180 riders and already there has been huge interest from clubs.

Promoting club Usher IRC has also said that given the huge demand for places from clubs all over the country, places will be limited to 10 per club.

The event starts on Easter Saturday and will follow the traditional route to Gorey from St Kevin’s Community Centre in Blessington.

The route for this year has yet to be confirmed but in previous years stage 2 has been a 6km time trial in Gorey on the morning of Easter Sunday, with a 96km circuit race in the afternoon; Gorey-Cranford-Camolin-Gorey.

The race has then headed back to Co Wicklow for the concluding 91km stage 4 on Easter Monday in previous years.
