The police in Spain have found a cannabis crop and seized it after it was revealed growing on a rooftop by the Vuelta helicopter TV shots
When the Vuelta went through the town of Igualada near Barcelona, the TV
helicopter broadcast video of the rooftops of surrounding houses and apartment blocks.
In one rooftop garden shown on TV there was a crop of cannabis plants that
were secretly being cultivated.
However, the crop’s location was revealed by the aerial footage of the
Vuelta action and the local police picked up on the case.
The police carried out a search in Igualada on Tuesday – about 65km from
Barcelona – and seized the plants that officers believe were show on the TV
images.
About 40 plants were found and while no arrests were carried out the police
were still inquiring into the illegal drugs case.
The plants are visible in the footage below, which was hot from above during
the last kilometre of Friday’s stage 8.
