Jon Mould is one of the top riders on the UK scene and he is not in Clonmel this weekend to make up the numbers. The Welsh-born pro has the most amount of Tour Series crit wins ever (Photo courtesy TourSeries.co.uk)

Jon Mould might not have won the opening stage of the Suir Valley Three-Day yesterday but when you hear about the 48 hours he’s had he’ll probably win a lot of fans.
The JLT-Condor man was fifth on the opening stage, four seconds behind his teammate Stephen Williams who takes the yellow jersey into stage two today, Sunday.
But Mould is certainly the man to watch, even if he is more known for his crit skills.
This year alone he has won a staggering six of the 10 Tour Series crits in the UK – even managing to take those wins despite suffering a broken collar bone in June.
On Thursday night he took bronze in the UK crit nationals behind his teammates Chris Lawless and Russ Downing.
On Friday he made his way to Ireland for this weekend’s race. And obviously keen to get in some training ahead of the Tour of Britain, he rode to the start yesterday from Kilkenny; almost 80 kilometres away.
He then signed on and got stuck in, though he missed the break which two of his teammates were in.
But not happy with that he took flight on the cat 1 climb of The Vee after 87km alongside his teammate Luke Grivell Mellor and Simon Ryan (Mego RAW Cycles) and they rode straight across to the break almost three minutes up the road.
That is a good day’s work; a good 48 hours work in fact. Here's his Strava file for stage 1 at the Suir Valley.
