GB successful at all levels: Winning Female Junior gold in Copenhagen

Irish riders and coaches will learn from the dominant British Cycling federation over the next two years, after the agreement of a new alliance between Cycling Ireland and British Cycling.

The deal has been announced this evening, Wednesday, and will see British Cycling open its doors and invite in Irish coaches to learn the techniques and methods that have created the world-beating GB squad.

Irish riders will ultimately benefit from the increased level of expertise.

The cornerstone of the new alliance, which will last until at least the end of 2013, will see British Cycling’s coach education resources being made available to Irish coaches, who will travel to Britain to learn from the best.

The process will seek to ensure the techniques that have created world-beaters of the British cycling scene transfer to Ireland.
