Matt Brammeier’s new Omega Pharma-Quickstep Irish national champion’s jersey has been given the full Irish treatment by the designers of the new team kit.

Brammeier released a photo earlier today, Sunday, of himself in his new team training top, leading to much comment that it more resembled an Italian champion’s jersey and was too conservative in design (see image below).

However, we’ve gotten our hands on a new image of him showing his distinctive new white and green racing jersey and black shorts with tricolour trim, and his new team issue Specialized S-WORKS.

The new gear is much more distinctive than the training top image released earlier and should be very easy to pick out in the peloton.

With the training gear, the only nod to the fact he is Irish national champion is some subtle stripes on the bottom of the front of the jersey.

It is not dissimilar to the way Leopard-Trek last year only added a hint of colour and modest deviation from the team’s regular kit for the national champion’s in its team.

In contrast to his training gear, Brammeier’s racing jersey is mainly white, with a green front panel that includes a shamrock design.

Stickybottle wishes Matt the very best for the season ahead.
