When the two lads from the 118 118 directories inquiries advert were prancing around on our TV screens for all those years, they'd never guess a style icon would model their look.

But former Team GB coach Dave Smith has been quick off the mark to join the dots.

And by photoshopping the 118 118 number onto a photo of Wiggins from his rowing debut today, we think he's nailed it.

Wiggins himself inadvertently added to the merriment in recent days.

He shared a pic of his new rowing kit arriving. And it looks very similar to the 118 118 lads fancy dress set, below.
