Nicolas Roche, Bradley Wiggins added to Eurosport on-screen line-up

Some familiar faces and some new: Bradley Wiggins is now included in the Eurosport crew that will bring us the Grand Tours this year.

Nicolas Roche and Bradley Wiggins have been added to
Eurosport’s on-screen talent for the upcoming Grand Tours.

Wiggins will appear on screen during all three Grand
Tours with Roche’s appearances worked around his racing schedule.

The Irish cyclist is not riding the Giro but is likely to
be Team Sunweb’s selection for both the Tour de France and Vuelta.

The broadcaster is sticking with its commentators like
Sean Kelly, Carlton Kirby and Rob Hatch.

Matt Stephens will be the channel’s roving reporter on
the tours; a role he already has experience in and has done with a great mix of
humour and expertise as a former professional himself.

Cycling journalist Orla Chennaoui is joined the team as lead presenter and will be joined by guests to analyse the racing actions each day.

Nicolas Roche has appeared infrequently on Eurosport in the past but we'll be seeing more of him this year; his own racing allowing, of course.

“Every stage of each Grand Tour will feature a 20-30
minute build-up with Orla and guests, where they will dissect the previous days
racing as well as looking ahead to the upcoming stage using Viz Libero
touch-screen technology,” Eurosport said in a statement.

It added GCN presenters Dan Lloyd and Simon Richardson
will record a recon of the day’s racing each day for broadcast in the preview
section of each stage.

Eurosport will also launch a new debate show, The Breakaway, at the Giro
d’Italia, which will be available on all Eurosport’s digital platforms.

“Eurosport platforms will be the only place to enjoy a full, 360-degree experience from every stage of all three Grand Tour’s,” said Jamie Steward, senior director of production and broadcast at Eurosport

“Bradley Wiggins is one of the most recognizable and popular names in British cycling. We are delighted he will be joining the Eurosport team for the Grand Tours.

“(He will be) continuing his fantastic work on The Bradley Wiggins Show podcast while Orla Chennaoui is another terrific addition to our coverage.”
