Bradley Wiggins has said the customised yellow Pinarello bike being offered for sale online is not the bike from his 2012 Tour-winning ride.

An advert appeared in the UK saying Wiggins “took his win while riding a Pinarello
Dogma 65.1 and was given a special edition yellow version to ride through the
Champs-Élysées”.

It added the seller was delighted to be able to sell “this
historic bike” for £7,500.00 plus post.

It is still unclear where the bike came from, and whether it was a spare bike for Wiggins on the day. But Wiggins has now said the bike being offered for sale is not the one he won the Tour de France on in Paris in July, 2012.

“I saw it this morning, it’s got a number on the back… it’s not my bike, no,” he said, joking that he wouldn’t sell the bike he won the Tour on for a “measly” £7,500.

“No, it’s a far too treasured piece of history, that, to flog for 7½ grand,” he said on his Eurosport podcast.

Aside from the
yellow paint job the bike comes with matching yellow Fizik saddle, bar
tape, and Speedplay pedals with Shimano’s 10-speed Dura-Ace Di2 groupset.

The price of the bike surprised many as it was being offered for sale for just £7,500, though the buyer must also pay for postage or shipping.
