The Brazilian bomb squad has arrived at a location near the finish of the men's Olympic road race, which was still underway with just over 50km remaining at the time of writing.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion in the area, which the riders were nowhere to at the time.
An area has been sealed off but the impact it will have, if any, on the road race is not clear.
Early reports indicated the explosion may have been a controlled one carried out by the bomb squad officers when a suspect bag was reported in the area.
