Egan Bernal is back on the home trainer and pedaling again just over three weeks after his crash while on a team training camp in his native Colombia.
The Giro d'Italia champion and 2019 Tour de France winner has posted videos of himself on a seated home trainer pedaling as he returns to load-bearing exercise despite fracturing bones in his leg and back.
Bernal hit the back of a parked bus while out training with Ineos Grenadiers last Monday three weeks. He was on his TT bike at the time and riding at speed just ahead of the training group.
Since then he has undergone several rounds of surgery, including leg and spinal surgeries. He has said he was almost killed in the crash and had a 95 per cent chance of being paralysed. He has also spoken of feeling "reborn" since the incident.
