Ben Healy's incredible season - including a Tour de France stage win and yellow jersey and a Worlds bronze medal - has secured him a place in the 'Young Power List Ireland 2025'. There are just four sports stars among the 25 young powerful Irish people who make the list this year.

Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) is in big company on the 2025 list as he is alongside Hollywood A-listers, global best-selling authors and figures in the music industry, including Fontaines DC frontman Grian Chatten and Mo Chara of Kneecap.

Also featuring is Oscar-nomindated actor Paul Mescal and author Sally Rooney, who wrote Conversations with Friends, Normal People and Intermezzo, among others. Healy is the only cyclist on the list - with Lara Gillespie surprisingly absent.

But he fact he is one of just four athletes to feature, from across all sports, underlines his standing. It also confirms the transformative impact his Tour de France success has delivered.

The list is compiled every year by The Sunday Times, which usually restricts its efforts to a British young power list but has produced an Irish version this year.

From the sporting world, Healy is joined by icon in the making, track star Rhasidat Adeleke, as well as Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher and emerging motorsport star, Alex Dunne. You can review the full list by following this link.

“If I retired tomorrow I’d be pretty happy with it,” Healy said when he took the yellow jersey in the Tour back in July, the first Irish rider to lead the race since Stephen Roche won the French Grand Tour way back in 1987.

“The yellow jersey brought a lot more attention than I ever thought it could. I’m still getting recognised on the street. I think with the results I’ve had over the past few years, I’m probably going to be quite fortunate throughout my career to make a pretty good living.

"I just consistently enjoy riding my bike, I don’t think I could do it if I didn’t enjoy it, and that’s it. I actually just like the process of getting up every day and slowly getting better.”
