Sam Bennett and Michael Mørkøv are, without question, the most successful partnership in world sprinting at the moment; always racing together and combining for win after win.
While it falls to Bennett (30) to finish off the task every time he is going for victory, his Deceuninck-QuickStep team has given him full support all the way. And Michael Mørkøv (35) is his all important final lead-out man.
The Danish rider guides Bennett into position and, all going well, drops him off at the front with a few hundred metres to go so he can pull the trigger and sprint for victory.
It's a combination that worked brilliantly last year when Bennett took two stages of the Tour de France and the green jersey; the Irish-Danish partnership called into action at the intermediate sprint or the sprint finishes on almost every stage.
And so far this year Bennett has taken two stages at UAE Tour, two victories at Paris-Nice and also his first ever win in a one-day WorldTour race, at Oxyclean Classic Brugge-De Panne last week.
While Bennett has since put in a very strong ride at Gent-Wevelgem, the Sporza cameras followed him and Mørkøv, a three-time track world champion, at Oxyclean Classic Brugge-De Panne last week to produce this fantastic feature piece below.
