Clemens Fankhauser was pushed very closely for the yellow jersey on stage 5 of the Rás yesterday by Ireland's Damien Shaw of the An Post-Chainreaction team.
But at the end of the stage into Clonakilty, Co Cork, the winner of the race two years ago still had the yellow jersey on his shoulders.
He sees himself under pressure on many fronts from the challengers, but Shaw and Matthew Holmes of Madison-Genesis are closest to him; both just two seconds down.
And one minute covers the top 19 overall. The man in 19th at exactly 60 seconds down is Wouter Mol who won the stage yesterday.
Shane Stokes caught up with both yellow jersey Fankhauser and stage winner Mol for a chat at the stage end yesterday.
