Manager of the Irish team on the Rás, David McCann has said Eddie Dunbar is clearly very strong in the race and he believes nobody will have the legs to ride away from the 19-year-old.
But McCann, who has won this race before, says it will be tactical all the way to the finish.
And he has also pointed out that Mark Downey did an excellent ride into Dingle – finish 11th just 21 seconds down - emphasising he is a strong and clever rider who is still well in contention for the Irish team.
Dunbar was 4th overall starting Wednesday’s stage 4, just 5 seconds down on race leader Clemens Fankhauser (Austria Tirol Cycling Team), with Downey 15th just 29 seconds down.
McCann spoke to Shane Stokes before the start of today’s stage 4.
