Aqua Blue Sport has unveiled its new race kit for the 2018. It retains its navy and gold colour scheme but there are some subtle changes. And one of those is of the commercial variety; new advertising appearing on the kit.
The Oranjeboom non-alcoholic lager logo appears on the back of the shorts. It is described as the team’s beverage partner. It is the first logo to appear on the team's clothing outside of its kit and equipment suppliers.
Once again Vermarc has produced the kit; the team wearing its flagship Pro Racing Research clothing line. The shamrock, which the team says symbolises its Irish heritage, continues to feature.
It is included on on the jersey and the bib shorts once again. But it has also been incorporated into subtly patterned shoulder and sleeve panels. The team says it is intended to add “texture and depth to the design” of the jersey.

As well as the Oranjeboom logo, the squad’s supporter brands also have a presence again. They include Vermarc Sport, bike sponsor 3T and saddle provider Selle San Marco. A breast cancer awareness pink ribbon also features in the jersey collar.
Larry Warbasse wears the US champion’s livery; a very nice it is too. While Adam Blythe and Matt Brammeier will both have the British and Irish colours respectively on their jersey sleeves. That signifies the fact they are former national champions of those nations.
Brammeier has won the Irish road crown four times; taking consecutive victories. Team general manager Stephen Moore said all the personnel were very happy with the look for next year.
“We've maintained the design elements which our team kit has become known for, such as the royal blue colour scheme, the gold chevron representing our ambition and the shamrock that reflects the Irish spirit,” he said.
“As we lay the foundation for a successful 2018, we want to continue to stand out in the peloton as one of the most stylish, sophisticated and avant-garde jerseys.”
Aqua Blue Sport on Monday moved to reassure the sport that its licence application for 2018 would soon be approved by the UCI.
The world governing body had published a list of ProContinental and WorldTour teams for next year. And the Aqua Blue Sport licence was listed as under review.
Consequently it must wait a little longer for the licence commission's approval.
However, the squad said it had submitted more paperwork. Furthermore, it was confident the matter would be resolved very quickly.
