Sean Hahessy is a very powerful rider and will add considerable strength in depth to the Aqua Blue team for 2017. He has raced mainly on the track in the last year but will focus more on the road in the coming season.

One of the country’s top domestic teams in 2016, Aqua Blue, has added considerable strength to its squad for the forthcoming season by adding a trio of riders from around the country.
Sean Hahessy, formerly of Carrick Wheelers and more recently with Fitscience CC, will add considerable firepower to the Cork-based unit.
And Timmy O’Regan along with Cian Sutcliffe will give the team more of a presence in Leinster.
The latter two rode for Dunboyne CC and Lucan CRC respectively in 2016 and they join an already powerful roster of riders.

Hahessy was committed to the Cycling Ireland paracycling track programme since late 2015 and that meant he raced very little on the road as a result.
He’s a former Irish junior and U23 international and medalled at the national junior championships.
In 2015 he rode for Ireland in the Kreiz-Breizh Elites race in France and has plenty of road miles at a high level under his belt.
O’Regan is a classy rider and is a former stage winner at the Tour of Ulster.
As well as medalling at the national cyclocross championships in 2014 he has taken some tidy ‘cross and road wins. And though work curtailed his involvement in some events in 2016 he is back for more next year.
Cian Sutcliffe has shown great promise in recent times and will look to continue that progress next year.
Sutcliffe has made huge strides in the last number of years and this year was crowned Leinster hill climb champion.
The Aqua Blue team took many wins in 2016 and through national series winner Sean Lacey had one of the best riders in the country yet again.
Alongside him, Anthony Walsh took a memorable win at the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan on stage three.
Greg Swinand won the national Masters 40 road race title, gold in the national championships individual pursuit and set a new Irish hour record, amongst many other achievements.
Conor Hennebry had an incredible year and is one of three former Aqua Blue riders to be snapped up by An Post-ChainReaction in recent years; Sean McKenna and Damien Shaw the others.
Matteo Cigala, Mark O’Callaghan, Dylan Foley, John Horgan, Siobhán Horgan, Maurice Lawlor and Shane O'Neill are just some of the other riders in the team for next year.
Caimin Muldoon has left as he is now based abroad.
