An Post Chainreaction warm weather camp hit by snow in Spain

The An Post-Chainreaction team haven't had the weather they hoped for in Spain. Indeed, the team stayed indoors training on the turbo while other cyclists in the region went out into the elements.

 

They came, it snowed, they trained indoors; that's been the sequence of events at the An Post-Chainreaction training camp in Calpe, southern Spain.

Irish rider Damien Shaw said in the team's training camp video at the start of the camp that he was looking forward to it because they team was "guaranteed to get good weather".

And normally that's true; but for the first time in almost three decades it has snowed at this time of the year in and around Calpe.

The An Post-Chainreaction team sensibly took to the indoor trainers while those who were in Calpe for a bit of craic as much as for the miles went out on their bikes.

The region was not only hit by snow but also hail, lightening storms and torrential rain.
