The An Post-Chainreaction team has named its team for next week's Tour of Britain. It begins on Sunday, with 10 stages to follow. There are plenty of sprints, climbs and an individual TT. For the first time since 2012 the race finishes outside London.
An Post Chainreaction team for Tour of Britain
An Post Chainreaction has name its team for the Tour of Britain. The race gets underway this Sunday, September 3rd, with 188km from Edinburgh to Kelso.
Always an important event for An Post Chainreaction, the team has gone with a very strong line-up.
It includes three Irishmen; Damien Shaw, Matt Teggart and Sean McKenna. With them are Jacob Scott, Regan Gough and Mark Stewart.
The Tour of Britain has been kind to An Post Chainreaction in the past.
Both Sam Bennett and Gediminas Bagdonas won stages and have since gone on to top flight pro careers.
Bagdonas won into Sandringham in 2011; the year he also claimed the Rás with the team.
He would progress to the WorldTour with AG2R-La Mondiale the following year and has been with the squad ever since.
Bennett took a fantastic win in 2013. He proved best of the breakway on an testing finish up Caerphilly Mountain.
He was offered a contract with ProContinental team NetApp-Endura after that Tour of Britain win.
And that team has since morphed into top flight squad Bora-hansgrohe, which Bennett currently rides for.
