The Irish-registered and Irish-sponsored An Post-Chainreaction team has brought to seven the number of Irish men it will have in its line-up in 2016 with news that Angus Fyffe has signed for the squad.
Fyffe is the second rider from the home scene who is still in college that Sean Kelly's Continental team has signed up for the coming European road season.
However, unlike Sean McKenna who is nearing the end of his studies and will sit his final exams in a few months, Fyffe is currently in his second year of a four-year degree course.
While he was not available for comment at the time of writing, stickybottle understands Fyffe will continue to race in the colours of his club Omagh Wheelers in the first months of the year.
When he completes his exams in the early summer he will then take up his place with An Post-Chainreaction.
Just about to turn 21-years-old, he is studying civil engineering at University of Ulster, Jordanstown.
And while his plans to combine studies and cycling seem straightforward this year, it is unclear if he will seek to do the same for the next two years or if he might take a break from college to focus on his cycling.
Whatever the outcome, winning a place on the team is a fantastic development for Fyffe.
His inclusion brings to seven the number of Irish riders who will line out for the squad this year.
Jack Wilson remains with the team and Connor McConvey returns having been with rival Belgian Continental outfit Team 3M last.
All of the others are newcomers to the An Post-Chainreaction fold. They are, as well as Fyffe and McKenna; Damien Shaw, Daniel Stewart and David Montgomery.
More to follow.
