An evening with Stephen & Nicolas Roche; public interview, meet and greet & expo

An evening with Stephen & Nicolas Roche

Irish cycling fans are invited to what sounds like a fantastic event in the next couple of weeks, with Garda CC running an evening with Stephen & Nicolas Roche. The father and son will appear at a public interview, where those in attendance will get to field some of the questions and meet the 1987 Tour de France winner and current pro rider.

The event is being run at the Garda Westmanstown Sports & Conference Centre in Dublin 15 – in the west of the city – on Wednesday, December 12th.

Stephen will look back on his glittering career and offer stories about some of his biggest triumphs and challenges. He’ll also run his eye over the current crop of riders, including his own son Nicolas and nephew Dan Martin, and make a few predictions for the year ahead.

He’ll undoubtedly have plenty to say about the other top Irish riders, including UnitedHealthcare duo Philip Deignan and Martyn Irvine, not to mention Matt Brammeier, the An Post-Sean Kelly team and some of our UK-based riders.

Nicolas will give the low down on how his season went in 2012 and he’ll speak about his plans for next year with his new team Saxo-Tinkoff.

He’s just come out of his first week-long get together with his new team mates, including Alberto Contador, so he’ll be very well placed to bring everyone inside the Saxo-Tinkoff camp and explain how it’s shaping up for its assault on the year ahead.

Master of ceremonies on the night will be sports injury consultant and former international rider Paul Tansey.

Garda CC are pulling out all the stops and have put a special accommodation package in place for those travelling to Dublin for the evening event, not to mention putting on a mini expo on the night in the Westmanstown complex.

In keeping with the Garda-run event, the Garda National Traffic Bureau will also be there with a road safety stand.
