American clothing brand seeks young Irish riders to become 2014 'brand ambassadors'

The American clothing brand Verge is offering what sounds like a very tidy opportunity for some young Irish riders

A major global cycling company is inviting young Irish riders to become brand ambassadors for next year in an arrangement that will see those selected being supplied with clothing through 2014.

The Verge clothing company, through its Irish distributor Lucca Sports, wants Irish junior and U23 riders to simply write in and explain why they feel they should be picked to become brand ambassadors.

To be eligible you must be U23 or junior in 2014 and the company is looking for riders from all four Irish provinces.

Verge is an American brand of custom cycling clothing new to the Irish market. It will be used by a number of teams and clubs here next year including Aquablue and Iverk Produce Carrick Wheelers.

John Dempsey of Lucca Sports, which is distributing Verge in Ireland, said those selected would not necessarily be the best riders who apply.

“We might end up picking the best but really it’s about finding young people who represent themselves well and who we’d feel would represent Lucca Sports and Verge well,” he said.

“So we’d be encouraging any young person to apply and see what happens, they may end up enjoying being a brand ambassador more than they realise.”

The male and female riders selected will be supplied with a range of stock from across the Verge line.

Interested parties are invited to send their details to the email address below, stating their club for 2014, a selection of their best results from previous years and a short few words stating why they feel they would be a good Verge brand ambassador.

The closing date for applications is December 15th, with successful applicants being notified in early January.
