Here’s a couple of videos for us from inside the Tinkoff-Saxo pre season training camp in Gran Canaria, featuring one of its team leaders and Irish international Nicolas Roche.
The video above runs to just over five minutes and brings us behind the scenes at the camp for a few days as well as out on the bike with the riders, with some good access to the whole set up.
The clip below has been released by the team and is in Spanish and English, with a short interview with Roche included.
He has revealed he will ride the Giro d’Italia, which starts in Belfast in May, and will also ride the Tour de France, which likely rules him out of the Vuelta, where he won a stage and held the leader’s jersey last year.
However that remains to be seen.

When asked what his goals were for the coming year, he said: “Hopefully the Giro for the general classification but it’s only my second tour of Italy so it’s a new experience for me. I’m really looking forward to that.
“Then I’ll have a role also to back up the team leaders in the Tour (de France) which is a different role but also exciting.”
