Golden Girls: Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal are shortlisted with some huge names in Irish sport for the RTE Sports Star of the Year 2016. And they are not Irish cycling's only contenders in the field.
Having taken a silver medal in the road race and won gold in the TT at the Rio Paralympics, tandem pairing Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal have been shortlisted for Ireland's biggest annual sporting award.
The contenders for the RTE Sportsperson of the Year have just been unveiled and the golden girls of Irish cycling are there along with Eoghan Clifford, who also took gold away from Brazil in the summer.
Clifford won bronze in the individual pursuit and gold in the road TT.
The Irish trio really flew the flag for their country and for cycling this year and it would be absolutely brilliant to get them over the line at these awards.
