The 5km exercise zone around people's homes in the Covid19 lock-down period is being extended to 20km.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced the move while also stating that the easing of the Covid19 lock-down measures was being accelerated.
From today, Monday June 8th, everyone in the Republic can go anywhere in their own county and they can also exercise within a 20km radius of home.

The pin drop site - 2kmfromhome.com - started when the exercise zone people could exercise in was within 2km of home. That was later extended to 5km and from today it's extended again to 20km.

The new rule means people can go anywhere for any reason, including to exercise, anywhere in their own county. And they can also exercise anywhere within a 20km radius of their own homes even if that takes them outside their own county.

For many cyclists, the 20km zone will open up more training roads outside their home county so it's worth checking where your 20km zone covers.
