Sean McKenna has taken victory for UCD CC in a three-up sprint at the end of the Seamus Kennedy Memorial in Co Meath today.

McKenna, who recently represented Ireland at the World Student Championships, was part of a 12-man group that went clear early in the proceedings and split on the last lap, with four riders hanging on out front to take the top spots on the day.

The UCD man out-sprinted Alistair Macaulay of Phoenix CC and Cuchulainn's Liam Dolan for the win, while fellow escapee Robin Kelly of Aquablue just survived ahead of the chase group four fourth place.

Recently crowned Munster champion Paidi O'Brien of Osborne Meats took the group sprint behind for fifth.
