Ireland’s Michael O’Loughlin is in the main breakaway and Daire Feeley, above, is chasing with one of the Russians in their bid to get across.
The U23 road race is underway at the World Road Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Ireland has four riders in the 165km event; Michael O’Loughlin, Matt Teggart, Eddie Dunbar and Daire Feeley.
At the time of writing the riders had six laps remaining of the 15.2km circuit.

O’Loughlin was clear – some 2km ahead of the peloton – in a large and very capable looking breakaway.
And Feeley was back the road around 500 metres off the front of the bunch with a Russian rider trying to bridge the gap to the leaders.
