Eddie Dunbar is best placed of the 10 Irish riders in the field at the Junior Tour of Wales going into the final 100km road stage today, Monday.
Dunbar, riding for the Munster Sesna team, is 4th overall, some 24 seconds down. However, it is UK-based Irish rider James King of Sportscover-Haribo who had thus far bagged the best result by winning yesterday evening’s 4th stage proving strongest at the finish from a breakaway.
King, the winners of the Traders Cup in Dundalk at the start of the season, was also best of the Irish in yesterday morning’s criterium, when he came home in 18th place. We’ll have more later on how the riders did on today’s final stage.
