Eddie Dunbar fights to the death after Natons Cup 110km solo escape

Eddie Dunbar has over seven minutes of a lead on the peloton at Le Cote de Picardie in France, his first Nations Cup race against the best U23 riders in the world.

Ireland’s Eddie Dunbar has stormed into a massive seven minute lead on the peloton in his debut Nations Cup event with the U23 national team.
The young Corkman is racing Le Cote de Picardie in France at present and looks to be in terrific shape after going clear of the bunch 40km into the hilly 180km event.
Two riders are currently giving chase - Grigoriy Shtein of Kazakhstan and Federico Vivas of Argentina - but they’re almost six minutes behind.
At the time of writing there were around 90 kilometres remaining so quite a bit of work for Dunbar left to do.
We’ll have more throughout the afternoon. But it's a stunning ride by first-year U23 rider Dunbar thus far and puts him firmly in the minds of the biggest pro teams in the world.
He is currently riding for NFTO Pro Cycling in the UK but is competing for the Irish national team in France today.
