Felix English has shown his good form with just a week remaining to his first U23 Nations Cup race of the year for Ireland, taking the final stage of the ‘P&O Ferries Tour of the North’ today, Monday.

The Rapha Condor-Sharp rider took victory into Broughshane after 70 miles by one second from Jack Cutsforth (Herbalife), with prologue TT winner Frank Niewold (SWABO Cycling Team) in third.

All of the main GC contenders were in the large group just behind winner English meaning there was no major reshuffle of the final GC standings. James Moss (NODE4-Giordana) took outright victory from yesterday’s stage winner Michael Nicholson (Scotland U23).

Peter Hawkins (IG Sigma Sport) was best of the Irish in fourth on GC while David McCann (RTS Racing) was sixth.

Hawkins took two of the climbs today and gained enough points to dislodge McCann from the lead in the climbers’ classification.
