Alistair Macaulay of Phoenix CC took his first win of the season at the Waller Cup in Bohermen this afternoon when he sprinted home at the head of a six-man escape group

The Phoenix CC man is clearly hitting some great form as he searches for a team for the An Post Rás, taking victory today in Co Meath after a very strong ride in the Shay Elliott Memorial yesterday in Co Wicklow.

Macaulay, a stage winner and yellow jersey at last year's Gorey Three Day, got clear in the early escape yesterday and as the break fragmented he proved to be among the strongest, taking a very solid 6th place in the A1-A2 race.

Today he was part of a six-man group that proved decisive in Bohermeen and saw off the challenge of his fellow escapees to take the win.

UCD strong man Eoin Morton was 2nd, with last weekend's overall winner in Gorey, Mark Reilly of Lucan CRC, showing that he has maintained his excellent form to take 3rd place just ahead of Kerry Group Rás Mumhan winner Mark Dowling of DID Dunboyne.
