Seán Hahessy wins Dungarvan Cycling Club Open Race

A powerful rider who can turn it on on the road and track; Seán Hahessy was strongest in the closing stages of the main event in Dungarvan today.

The Viner-Caremark-Pactimo rider won solo just ahead of the breakaway; claiming a big victory and the €500 prize that went with it.

Just a few seconds later it fell to Paidi O'Brien (Gerard-DHL) to bring home the remainder of the escape to take the runner-up spot.

Rás Mumhan winner Conor Hennebry, a team mate of the winner's, rounded out the podium.

Sean Hahessy rode a text book finish to the main event at the Dungarvan Cycling Club Open Race.

He only bridged over to the breakaway on the final lap. Once making contact he would then attack them.

He used his big engine to gain a modest advantage over the chasers. And that was enough to take victory.
