Paul Kennedy may be no stranger to winning road races and TTs, but his win rate this season, now aged 45 years, has been one of the stories of the 2026 campaign on the domestic scene.

Last Tuesday, the Burren CC rider claimed victory in Rás Luimni, attacking from the breakaway to ride the last 15km solo to victory. That took his win tally to eight for the season and he has now added another two wins, bringing his 2026 tally to double figures.

Yesterday, Sunday, he proved best at the Shanahan's Family Foods Raceday, promoted by Greenmount CA at Limerick race course. He got the verdict over Arnaud Dumoulin (O’Leary Stone CC) and Keith Walsh (Greenmount CA).

And 24 hours before taking that win, he rode the Seven Springs 40km TT in Kilreekill, Co Galway, promoted by Seven Springs Cycling Club.

Kennedy, a noted TT rider who has won Gran Fondo Worlds TT gold in the past, was quickest on the day from Mathew Walls (APS Pro Cycling by Team Cadence Cyclery) and Colin Clavin (Streams town Cycling Club).
