One of the breakthrough men of the season last year, and very impressive again in 2026, Evan Keane (Pinergy Orwell) has claimed victory in the Noel Teggart Memorial today., Sunday.

Keane was best in the Banbridge CC promotion after coming to the finish in a three-man group that included Luke Smyth (Moynalty CC) and the impressive veteran Bryan McCrystal (Bear Cycling); the latter mixing it so well with the top C1 riders on the home scene.

Though Smith took his first win of the season at the Glendale Grand Prix last weekend, and is clearly in his best form of the campaign, Keane is not a rider you ever want to bring to a finish.

And though Smith pushed the Orwell man very, very close all the way to the line, Keane came out on top. McCrystal came over the line a few seconds later in 3rd, having lost just a few lengths in the sprint.

As the three riders were contesting the finish, the next group on the road was in view on the home straight, with Ciaran Maguire (Dan Morrissey Pissei) winning the gallop for 4th place, from a four-man chasing group.

Maguire did well to win that sprint, underlining the quality of his kick, as he edged John Buller (Banbridge CC) into 5th place, with Gareth O'Neill (Athlete Nutrition Coach Nordic Labs) in 6th.

Darragh McGee (O'Leary Stone Kanturk) was also in that four-man chase group and he claimed 7th place on the day. Just a few seconds after those four finished, Ruairi Byrne (UCD Cycling Club) won the sprint from a large bunch for 8th place.

Odhran Doogan (Caldwell Powerhouse Racing) was 9th, with Daire Feeley (Burren CC) 3rd in that bunch sprint and round out the top 10 on the day in the main event.

In the C2 race, Jason Henry (Inspired Cycling) was best, pipping Drew McKinley (Newry Wheelers) for the victory. Gavin Magowan (Dromara CC) was 3rd.

Gary Crory claimed victory in the C3 race for the promoting club, Banbridge CC, with Alastair Gribbon (Carn Wheelers) in 2nd place and Gerard Craig (VC Glendale) rounding out the podium.

More to come.
