Richie Maes and Lisa Stapelbroek took clear wins in the main events at the Munster Cyclocross Series round 2 in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, yesterday.
In the men's race Maes (Strata 3-VeloRevolution) got the better of Paidi O'Brien (Verge Sport PI Cycles), with Richie Barry of St Finbarr's taking 3rd.
Barry had won the Crossbars event that opened the series two weeks ago and the results from both races see him and Maes tied for the lead early in the league.
In the women's event Stapelbroek added to her growing collection of cross wins in the colours of Kenmare.
She was 40 seconds clear of young Lucy O'Donnell; the Verge Sport PI Cycles rider already stuck in to the off-road season after concluding her road campaign by representing Ireland at the Worlds in Yorkshire.
In 3rd place on the day was Nessa Rochford of the De Ronde Van Cork outfit.

The B race over seven laps saw a 50-strong
field turn out and best of this was Luis Mota; the McCarthy Cycles man enjoying
a very impressive ride to win it well.
He was 1:42 up on road international Jamie
Blanchfield of Panduit Carrick Wheelers who saw off Daniel Lynch of O’Leary
Stone Kanturk by just three seconds.
