Omagh Three Day 2017 stage 1 results

At the end of a tough Omagh Three Day stage 1 Peter McColgan sprinted in to take victory.

The St Tiernan's rider took a clear win in the rain at the end of 43 miles.

And while the course was undulating, with three climbers' primes, the finish came down to a sprint from a large group.

Peter McColgan darted in, with nobody in the Omagh Three Day field coming close to him. He will wear the yellow jersey into tomorrow morning's short flat TT.

He took a 10 second bonus for his stage win, with runner-up Declan McIntyre (Inspired Cycling) receiving a six second bonus.

Ralph Ginesi rounded out the podium on the night. The Newry Wheelers man was awarded four seconds for his troubles.
