Dan Martin and Nicolas Roche just face tomorrow's TT stage at the Tour de France before the big finale in Paris on Sunday.

The Irish pair finished in the bunch today on stag19.

The 222.5km leg from Embrun to Salon de Provence saw a large front group won the day by 12½ minutes from the peloton.

The stage was won by Edvald Boasson Hagen (Dimension Data). When the breakaway split in the attacking that characterised the final section of the stage, he was the first group.

And from that front group Boasson Hagen took the shortest route through a roundabout with 2.2km remaining. He got a gap and he was gone.

Eventual runner-up Nikias Arndt (Team Sunweb) went with him but couldn’t hold him and trailed in five seconds down on the Norwegian.

Jens Keukeleire (Orica-Scott) won the sprint 12 seconds later from what remained of the breakaway to take 3rd.

The peloton, containing Martin (QuickStep) and Roche (BMC Racing), finished 12:27 later. There was no change at the top of the general standings.

There remains a 22.5km TT in Marseille tomorrow. Chris Froome (Team Sky) is leading the racing by 23 seconds from Romain Bardet (AG2R-La Mondiale).

Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac) is 3rd some 29 seconds down on Froome.

Dan Martin is 6th, at 2:56. He is 1:01 down on Fabio Aru (Astana) in 5th and 1:50 up on Simon Yates (Orica-Scott) in 7th.

It means Martin is very likely to stay in 6th position overall.

Nicolas Roche is 33rd, his race having been turned on its head when GC leader Richie Porte crashed out.

However, Roche has often gone really well after the Tour. And he will not look ahead to the remainder of the year, especially the Vuelta.
