Evan Keane strikes to win 'Noel Teggart' from all-star breakaway

Evan Keane (Orwell Wheelers) took his first win of the season last weekend and has now claimed a second; this time claiming victory at the Noel Teggart Memorial from a very strong front group comprised of some of the best riders in the country.

Keane, riding for Dublin club Orwell but originally from Co Waterford, was a late-comer to cycling but is now definitely making up for his lack of palmares by beating very good riders to win again.

At the pointy end today in Co Down he faced off against prolific winner, Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport), and one of the heroes of Rás Tailteann, yellow jersey wearer Odhrán Doogan (Caldwell Cycles), but got the better of them.

Those three were among six in the mix at the front in the final of the Banbridge CC promotion main event, alongside Gareth O'Neill (Athlete Nutrition Coach HD), Ruairi Byrne (UCD Cycling Club) and Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles).

Despite plenty of attacks coming in the road after those six had pulled clear of the rest of the breakaway men, it came down to a sprint won by Keane.
