Emerging rider Darragh Zaidan storms to victory in Trader’s Cup, Dundalk

Darragh Zaidan has won the Trader’s Cup, hosted by Cuchulainn Cycling Club, this afternoon by beating Eoin Morton (UCD CC) and Ken Tobin (Bike Worx) to the line at the end of the 75 kilometre event.

The Adamstown CC man is a classy rider and has represented Ireland in the past at junior level.

Some of his biggest wins to date include a stage of the Junior Tour and a stage of the Gorey Three-Day last year.

But today's victory in Dundalk, Co Louth, against some of the best domestic amateurs in the country is his best yet.

A determined rider with a tenacious attitude, he has been quietly riding track races overseas – self funded and outside the international track fold – and is clearly getting stronger.
