Mark Dowling has been crowned Irish national crit champion for the second year in-a-row tonight.
The ASEA-Wheelworx man took the gold medal ahead of runner-up Philip Lavery with local man Gareth McKee of Banbridge CC rounding out the podium after a cracking race around Banbridge town centre.
For Dowling it was a special night as he came into the race as one of the favourites, making an already difficult task of retaining the title even more so.
Last year in Claremorris he blitzed the field to take home the gold medal for the first time and he repeated the act tonight on the tight and technical course.
It was a special night too for Banbridge CC who took home the gold medal as winners of the team prize thanks to McKee, James Curry and John Buller.
