Damien Shaw has absolutely demolished the field in the Deenside Cup this afternoon, crossing the line over two minutes clear of runner-up Sean McKenna (Aquablue).

The Team ASEA man continued his great run of form that brought him to within a whisker of a stage win at the An Post Ras last week where he bagged two second places and a third place on the final three stages.

Today, over a really testing circuit, the Mullingar man crossed the line more than two minutes ahead of McKenna who in turn had around a minute on a group of 10 riders.

Javan Nulty rounded out the podium for third while two emerging juniors were in the top 10 in the shape of Adam Stenson and Michael O’Loughlin, both of the NRPT-Magnet.ie team.

Ciara Kinch (Towers CC) was victorious in the separate women’s race, which was round four of the women's national league.

She got the verdict over Sinnead Okaes (Nenagh CC), Michelle Geoghegan (Sint Martinus) and Grace Young (De Ronde Van Cork CC), in that order.

In the A3 race, Aaron Kearney was a worthy winner; the Carrick Wheelers man coming home first ahead of his teammate Declan Hanrahan.

Paul Coffey of Blanch Wheelies rounded out the podium. The A4 race was won by UCD CC’s Pierce Butler.
