One of
a new group of UCD Cycling Club riders emerging on the home scene, Conor
Murnane has continued his very strong start to the season with a victory at
Mondello.

The
Dubliner went early in last night’s gallop to the finish line; showing great
speed after the groups only came together on the final lap.

He got
to the head of the bunch and beat international track man Fintan Ryan
(Kingspan) to the line; a very good scalp to take.

Murnane
has been in great form this year and while he lacked a victory this season, he
collected his first at the Mondello Series last night.

He has
been on the podium no fewer than seven times this year; finishing in the top
three at the Mick Lally Memorial, the TT stage and overall at Rás Mhaigheo, the Coombes Connor
and the Waller.

On the
basis of his win last night, seeing off a very large bunch with a great kick,
he should expect to up his win rate now and turn more of his chances into
victories.

He is now 6th in the Cycling Ireland A1 rankings, such has been his consistency since the start of the season. His victory at Mondello last night followed another last August.
