Our erstwhile snapper Sean Rowe has taken this gem of a photo which pretty much sums up cyclocross racing in Ireland at this time of the year. A non-descript location, a rider plastered in mud giving his all and a gun-metal grey sky overhead. The man in question here is Olympic hopeful Bryan Keane of Aquablue. For more of Sean's pictures from yesterday check out his album here

Aquablue man Bryan Keane is heading into an Olympic year with the Games in Rio de Janeiro his major target for the next nine months.
The top Irish triathlete is all set on getting to Rio and as one of the country's best performers in the swim, run and bike game for many years, he has an army of supporters willing him on.
Suffice to say, the Corkman will do everything in his power to make it to South America in August.
And the signs are good that he can erase the memory of missing out on London four years ago.
In an effort to keep his fitness in tip-top shape – as well as improving his bike-handling skills - he took part in the Muddy Cup cyclocross race in Cashel yesterday.
He came away with the win, with Killarney man Matt Slattery (Strata3-VeloRevolution) taking second.
This picture of Keane on his way to victory is about as far removed from the stunning backdrop of Copacabana Beach as we can imagine.
More later when we get results.

Bryan Keane sporting an altogether different winning look in his day-job; the world of full-time international triathlon.
