A cyclist in Kyiv persisted with his plans to go for a training ride in the city despite the Russian invasion and presence of troops and tanks on the streets in response.
The clip below was recorded late last week when the invasion had just gotten underway and, perhaps, when the full extent of the operation by Russia, and the Ukraine's response, was not fully understood.
The video was shown by CNN Portugal and captioned: "In the middle of the war a cyclist appears cycling between the tanks and the military."
While the Russian invasion began in the early hours of last Thursday morning, this clip was aired by CNN late on Friday night and it appears it was recorded earlier that day in Kyiv.
The clip was recorded by somebody in a vehicle and ends when the cyclist comes upon a road block of soldiers and military vehicles. As the cyclist continues to ride towards the road block one of the soldiers points his gun towards the cyclist, which prompts him to immediately turn in the road and ride away.
Thankfully no shots were fired in his direction by the troops - who appeared to be Ukrainian rather than Russian - and we hope he got back home safely.
