The Galway Classic, Ireland's unique road race taking in gravel sectors, was won this year by Conor Murnane, the UCD Cycling Club rider who is having something of a dream season. And now a highlights package of the race is available, below.
Riding for a Leinster selection, Murnane got the verdict in the sprint from a select group in the main event. He achieved the near impossible task of beating Daire Feeley (All human-VeloRevolution) into 2nd place, just days after Murnane won the National Criterium Championships.
Top cyclocross rider Thomas Creighton (McConvey Cycles) was 3rd in the Galway Classic main event, with the top three all part of the 10-man front group that battled it out for victory after a very hard afternoon on the gravel and tarmac of the West.
The A3 race this year was won by Lorcan Daly (Killarney CC) from Conor Gallagher (UCD Cycling Club), with Rory Gallagher (Castlebar CC) rounding out the podium.
The promoting club, Galway Bay CC, put on a great show on the day, with this year's edition cementing the race's reputation as a bucket list event and one that the top riders really want to win. The club has also come up trumps in putting together this highlights package so sit back and enjoy.
