Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) went on the attack on stage 10 at the Tour de France, spending 150km of the 165km race off the front. When the breakaway split, he towed the handful of survivors for most of the last 40km, into the final 3km climb to the finish in Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy.

At the finish, he took 3rd place - behind stage winner Simon Yates (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Thymen Arensman (Ineos Grenadiers). But he had gained enough time to take the yellow jersey off Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates - XRG).

Healy also claimed the young rider classification jersey and won the combativity prize for the stage. He is the fourth Irish rider in history to wear the Tour's yellow jersey after Shay Elliott in 1963, Sean Kelly in 1983 and Stephen Roche in 1987.

Healy is also only the second Irish rider - after Stephen Roche in 1983 - to lead the young rider classification at the Tour.
