Tre Valli Varesine abandoned mid-race due to very heavy rain | Video

The action was called off at Tre Valli Varesine (1.Pro) some 57.9km in after this flooding made the roads dangerous

Very heavy rain, leading to flooding, has forced the cancellation of Tre Valli Varesine (1.Pro), the 200km event featuring Irish riders Ben Healy and Archie Ryan, both EF Education-EasyPost, among the field.

The weather was conspiring against the race from the start today, after the women's race was run off in wet conditions. The poor outlook resulted in two passages of the 16km finishing circuit being cut for the event.

However, while that shortened the race distance from 200.3km to 168.3km, the action was called off some 57.9km in after flooding made the roads dangerous.

More to come.
