Ireland's Rónán Dunne storms to big win in Red Bull Hardline | Video

Rónán Dunne has followed up his 2nd place, behind compatriot Oisin O'Callaghan in the US at the end of last season with a huge win in Red Bull Hardline in Tasmania, Australia, early this morning.

Dunne, now riding for Mondraker Factory Racing after leaving Continental Nukeproof Racing, beat British rider Bernard Kerr (Pivot Cycles) by almost two seconds today on what was a very challenging course in Derwent Valley. Kiwi George Brannigan (NS Bikes UR Team) was 3rd, almost three seconds down on a flying Dunne.

Known as the “world’s toughest downhill MTB race”, the race in Maydena was the first if its kind every held in Australia, with Dunne putting in a brilliant ride to beat Kerr, a three-time winner at Red Bull Hardline.

He was cheered to victory by a capacity crowd of 5,000 people as the venue sold out after amid huge interest among Australian downhill fans.
