Michele Scarponi was clearly moved after his win last week. And when he got home he shared a photo of his young boys in his leader's jersey from the Tour of the Alps.

 

Aged 37-years, Michele Scarponi was clearly overwhelmed at taking a surprise stage win at the Tour of the Alps last week.

The Italian, who was tragically killed this morning, also took the leader's jersey.

And while he only held it for a day he took two jerseys home as presents for his sons.

Scarponi took to Twitter after his victory, sharing a photo of his win with the simple message: "Thank you all".

And when sharing the photo of himself and his boys in the jerseys he had won, below, he said:

"Even if only for a day, I thought I'd bring home two leader jerseys."
