New Kimmage guide to cycling, "the greatest sport in world"

Paul Kimmage seems unusually upbeat about cycling as he advertises his new guide to the sport just about to be published.

Former pro rider turned journalist, Paul Kimmage is bringing out a new guide to cycling which he has described as “the greatest sport in the world”.

The guide will be published in The Sunday Independent this weekend and in the promotional material Kimmage is unusually upbeat about the sport.

“I’m Paul Kimmage and in this week’s Sunday Independent don’t miss my guide to cycling,” he says in an online video advert for the 24-page supplement.

Kimmage has previously said he would be unhappy for his own kids to take up the sport for fear they would want to race, which he did not want.

The sports journalist continues in the video promo: “With advice for everything from buying your first bike and what to wear, to the list of roads you’ll want to ride as you enjoy the greatest sport in the world.”

He adds elsewhere in the promotional material: “I’ll never forget the thrill of watching my father racing his bike, or the joy I felt when he first took me out on the road.

“Forty years later I’m still in love with what I believe is the greatest sport in the world and I’d like to think that this magazine will inspire some people to fall in love too.”
