Stefan Bissegger (EF Education-Easypost) took victory on stage 3 TT at UAE Tour on Tuesday and also claimed the race lead. The 23-year-old Swiss rider had already beaten world champion Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) twice against the clock and made it three in the desert for a big victory.

Tom Dumoulin (Jumbo Visma) was the best of the GC men; the Dutch TT champion and Olympic silver medal winner placing 3rd at 14 seconds; a time that was just seven seconds down on runner-up Ganna.

However, defending GC champion and two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) wasn't too far away; the young Slovenian taking 4th place at 18 seconds and lining himself up nicely for another shot at claiming the overall again this year.
